Cascades

A cascade describes a sequence in which qualifying symbols leave a layout, replacements appear and the updated layout is checked again. The exact game determines which symbols qualify and how the sequence continues or ends.

Separate two questions

Does this layout qualify?Read the matching and payout conditions.
What changes afterward?Read the replacement and continuation rules.

A cascade explains the second question. It does not, by itself, tell you whether the game uses lines, ways or another matching system.

An illustrative sequence

  1. The game evaluates the layout under its matching rules.
  2. If the replacement condition is met, the specified symbols change.
  3. The updated layout is evaluated according to the continuation rule.
  4. The written ending condition determines when the sequence stops.

This is a general reading framework, not the full rules of any one title.
